Why can't I install java applet for Google Drive. I am forced now to use Google Chrome. I did everything acc.to your instructions for add-ons.
I am trying to upload maps into GoogleDrive. In Firefox I get the info that the java applet cannot be installed. After installing GoogleChrome it works perfectly. I did everything acc.to your instructions re. admitting add-ons, etc.

hello Veen, could you tell us the exact wording of the error message or provide a screenshot of the problem?
There are other things that need your attention.
Note that your System Details List shows multiple Flash plugins.
- Shockwave Flash 12.0 r0
- Shockwave Flash 11.9 r900
You can find the installation path of all plugins on the about:plugins page.
You can check the Flash player installation folder for multiple Flash player plugins and remove all (older) version(s) of the plugin (NPSWF32) and (re)install the latest Flash player.

Please find 3 screenshots re.the problem. Screenshot 1 gives already the message that the browser (Firefox) is not capable of... Screenshot 2 gives a arning for a risk and I accept and press RUN. Screenshot 3 tells me "installing the java applet failed (ignore)" After pressing "ignore" it disappears, but no result uploading a map!
Cannot find the plug-ins page. See also my answer to phillipp.
Did you look at http://www.java.com/en/download/help/appsecuritydialogs.xml ?
Note that about: (with a colon ':') is a protocol used to open built-in page like http: that is used to access internet pages.
- You can open the about:plugins page via the location bar like you open a web page.

I found the Flash player version viz. 12.0.0.41. Acc. to me this is the latest. The Java plug-in screen is O.K. See above and activated by me by pressing "RUN". No positive result.
Try to clear the Java cache:
- http://www.java.com/en/download/help/5000020300.xml - How do I clear the Java cache?
- Control Panel > Java > General tab > "Temporary Internet Files" > Settings > Delete Files
Under "Delete files" I see 3 items. 2 of them are activated, should I delete all 3?
i couldn't get it working myself either when trying to reproduce the steps on google drive. maybe also report the issue to google, so that they can have a look into it...
Philipp, do you really think that Google will help in this case? They rather leave it as is. Like to promote their own browser,Chrome.
They win, because I intend to delete Firefox and start to use Chrome instead. Gives me less trouble.
