Firefox won't quit. What good is it when I can't stop it?
After reboot, Firefox runs. When I quit it with the red x at the top right, it goes away but doesn't quit. When I need it again I get the message that it is still running and that I need to reboot.
I just rebooted the computer and there is no change.

hello unsatisfiedvyc, unfortunately this is currently a bug in the current firefox version when you have set your history to be cleared at firefox shutdown - that is investigated and in the process of getting fixed by mozilla's developers with a high priority.

After reading this reply, I went looking in privacy. It did not look like I remembered leaving it a long time ago. Did an update change my preferences?
Anyway I made some changes along the line of what you said and now it works. Also, I have automatic upgrades turned off now.
Thanks for the quick and useful answers.
