Emails I receive with an attachment duplicate themselves within the message space and also double the number of attachments.

In other words, if the sender has written a paragraph, the paragraph appears, then a line, then another copy of the exact same text. The attachment, usually a Word file, is listed as two attachments although the sender sent only one attached file. One of the attachments is corrupted and won't open. I must click "save file" and it saves both into my downloads folder, but first asks me "nameoffile.doc already exists. Do you want to replace?" When I do that, it saves the uncorrupted file. I have already tried deleting the mimesType.rdf but that had no effect on this problem. It's annoying. Any help you could provide would be much appreciated.

Chosen solution

The problem involved any email with a Word or .pdf attachment, but seems to be resolved after compacting my inbox and all folders inside it. Thanks!
