Since you do not say what you DO see, I will take a couple of guesses. Do you have so many message tabs open that the Inbox is pushed off the screen? Right click one of the message tabs and select Close Other Tabs. Use the x on the last tab to close it. Now get in the habit of closing tabs after reading the message. Did you lose the Folder Pane on the left side of the screen where you select the folder to view? From the menu bar select View-Layout-Folder Pane. No menu bar? Press the alt key.
