When I opened Firefox today I got this message: "Fatal error: Cannot redeclare geoip_country_code_by_name() in /home/shlomo/public_html/jmnew/geoip.inc on line 452"

I uninstalled the 30.0 version and reinstalled and still get the message.

Am currently running my AV.

Solutions .... thanks,

rd

Forgot to mention that even when I change my Home Page, it does not hold. Reverts back to message above as soon as I open a new page.

Ardee, This is also happening here in this question. Collaborating could be useful.

The only similarity I see is Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape 11.0.07 and Windows Vista. It could be that there is no return value for the geoip http://dev.maxmind.com/geoip/legacy/c.../iso3166/

  • Is the account you are on a guest account when running firefox? Does this happen when you run Firefox as the administrator?
  • Does this happen in Safe Mode?

Please post back it could help other users! Thank you.

Tx for your post @guigs2. To respond:

The problem resolved itself for me within 24 hours. 1) It was not a guest account. 2) I did not try starting in safe mode so cannot answer. 3) I think I may have recently downloaded an Adobe or Java update - cannot recall exactly.
