Hello Support,

I have been using FireFox about 8 years. The constant crashes have cause me to start using other browsers as my default browser. I have tried all the fixes in the forums. The problems seems to start once the Flash plugin is installed. Once the Flash Plugin is installed the crashes a constant, even after uninstalling Flash the crashes continue. The only way to stop the crashes, is to uninstall Firefox and the Flash Plugin at the same time. Why can't Mozilla fix the Firefox browser problem of constant Crashes, after the Flash plugin is installed? As long as I don't install the Flash Plugin the browser is crash free. This happens on all the versions I have tried.

Thank you Fred Hamm

Hi Fred Hamm , I understand that you would like the crashes when Firefox has Flash installed to stop. I also understand that it is frustrating. There are two possibilities, you can use shumway, which is a project aimed to be incorporated into the browser as a default flash player. More about Shumway

Thank you for your patience, please do check back in when we do get this working again.

Hello,

I just finished several tests with Firefox and it continues to crash, whenever I type something in the search bar. There are no plugins installed. So what this means is that Flash is not the problem. Shumway was no help at all. Firefox version 31 and all the other version still crash. I see that a lot of Firefox users are having the same problem. The problem is not Flash. Now once I install the Flash Plugin the crashes happen more frequently.

I have been forced to used Internet Explorer, Safari, and Google Chrome, none of these Web Browsers have the crashing problem the Firefox has. I have six computers and all of them have Firefox installed on them. All six computers are having the same crashing problem with Firefox, no plugins, no extensions or any third party addons are installed. I have completely taken Firefox off of my main computer. I will do the rest if something isn't done soon. Mozilla you had the best Web Broswer, I now consider it the worst. I also can't tell you how many times I have installed and uninstalled Firefox and the problem remains the same. This is beyond frustrating. Mozilla if you still have pride in your Web Broswer please fix it, this is horrible.

Thank you Fred Hamm

It would be better if we had the actual reports.

Can you give me your crash reports?

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and paste them into your response here.

Also, please note that re-installing Firefox will not fix the issue. There's something conflicting with Firefox that we need the crash reports to see. Not every piece of software is perfect.
