When I open my email my messages are being placed into the trash automatically. The inbox now only holds emails that date back to May 20th, 2014 and each of my folders are deleted completely or partially and the old emails are then placed into the trash. Is there a setting that needs to be fixed? Is there anything that I can do to fix the issue?

Thanks, Joe Mohning

Some things to check:

If Pop mail account: Tools > Account Settings > Disc Space or right click on mail account and choose 'Settings' then select 'Disc space' for the mail account

If IMAP: Tools > Account Settings > Synchronization & storage or right click on mail account and choose 'Settings' then select Synchronization & storage for the mail account

Have got these selected: Select: 'don't delete any messages' Select: 'always keep starred messages' click on OK

Also check individual folders: right click on folder and select 'Properties click on 'Retention policy' tab select: 'Use my account settings' click on OK
