I opened a new tab for a search and got a 400 code. This was repeated no matter what I searched for. I then closed Mozilla and opened Explorer and repeated the same searches and each search worked so I know that it has nothing to do with my connections. I shut Mozilla, reopened it and got the same results. I even restarted the computer and got the same results. All my Favorites work and go right to the page...but if I search out anything else I get a 400 code.

Mozilla Search Reset

Download the Mozilla Search Reset {web link} This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.

What do you use as the new tab page or as the page that you used to search?

Is this about the search bar on the default about:newtab or about:home page or are you trying to search via a search bar on a web page?
