When I go to my Windows 7 desktop, I sometimes find that my browser has launched and is asking me to check or download something suspicious. I ran full Norton 360 scans, have run Norton Power Eraser, including the "Unwanted Application Scan" and found nothing. I downloaded and ran Revo Uninstaller, but didn't see anything suspicious. I have screen shots, but don't see how to include them.

Check your Tools > Add-ons and remove any suspicious extensions. If you can't find anything, try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Start a scan with MalwareBytes. Sometimes malware can sneak in and prevent your anti-virus from working properly, so its a good idea to run a scan with another tool in addition to your antivirus every now and then as different tools can catch different types of infection.
