Thunderbird PC conflicting with Android Pad when connected home
With Thunderbird running on PC and android Pad running in another room also connected to my email account (Pad doesn't have Thundrbird as we all know) . Every so often Thunderbird will not connect to email provider and ask for password. Which does not work. Provider checked out my PC and finds that Thunderbird it has a conflict with devices and will not access provider. Pad has no problem at all but the Pad is the conflict device Is there any way of configuring Thunderbird so it does not see the Pad as a conflicting device. Almost makes me want to go back to explorer as it does not let this happen. Surely it cannot be that hard to port a simpler Thunderbird for androids and stop this problem of conflict as I want to stay with Thunderbird Thanks

Provider checked out my PC and finds that Thunderbird it has a conflict
And what kind of conflict is that?
Pad is connected by wireless on out Router to email to provider using a different email agent to Thunderbird on the PC. Thunderbird often cannot connect to provider and our provider says that the pad is causing a conflict. This does not happen all the time happens about every 3 days. Therefor some confusion on my part as if there is a real conflict it should happen every time. Provider tells me that Explorer does not let this happen. Request was related to this and I asked if there was any provision on Thunderbird that would make it behave like explorer does ( Provider advice is alwayse found to be suspect as often tell any story to get you off their back He He )
You may try to increase the interval how often both, Thunderbird and your tablet are checking for new mail. Otherwise I don't see what kind of conflict your provider may be suspecting. When the problem happens only every once in a while, it sounds more like a provider issue. And it seems your provider folks don't have a clue about Thunderbird.

Are you talking about webmail? That's would be a completely different thing.

You wouldn't believe how hard. http://quetzalcoatal.blogspot.de/2013/09/why-email-is-hard-part-1-architecture.html
Thank you I really enjoyed reading the blog. I now feel sorry for those who work in the field of email development. Our provider considers you should only use Explorer and seems to have only hired people who have Microsoft training. Bit of a pity really as Thunderbird has a lot going for it. It seems stable at present, on the next occurence I will change the time intervals Thank you for your help ot is much appreciated Harry
