I used my personal laptop when I worked for this company. They programed and or downloaded Thunderbird into my computer. When I try to send an email to an advertiser (example: craigs list) the form continues to show my old company email return address. I have not worked for them for 2 years. Please tell me how to correct the return address issue or how to Un-install Thunderbird all together.

You can uninstall it just as you would any other program. But you haven't said anything about what type of computer it is (Windows? Mac? Something else?) so no-one can give you any specific guidance.

Or, if you now have your own email account, File|New|Existing Mail Account will let you add it. Or right-click the existing account, select Settings, then at the bottom, under Account Actions, you can add your new account and also delete the old one. Set up the new one before doing anyhting with the old.

An account will vanish if/when you remove it, so if there is any material in it you wish to keep, drag it to another account (or the special Local Folders account) before deleting the old account.
