I downloaded a newer version of Mozilla firefox on my laptop and now the green check marks are gone, I depend on them to let me know if the website I'm about to look at is safe or not.. How do I get them back.. I "love" this feature.

Your security add-on might need to be updated. Often they are limited to working with specific versions of Firefox. If you check the Add-ons page, can you find it? Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, scroll down, as the disabled extensions cluster at the bottom.

Now... there is a "Check for Updates" feature on this page, above the list, when you click the "gear" icon. However, for paid software, you generally need to use the software's built-in updater to get the latest add-ons.

Any luck tracking it down?
