In about pages (such as about:blank), when I type or select an url in the address bar, and then press enter, nothing happens. I have to open a bookmark or search in the search bar to open a page. When not in about pages, the address bar works properly.

What's the problem?

PS: I'm using the latest developer edition(36.0a2-1).

Finally I find that the problem is that Tab Utilities(1.5.28) isn't fully compatible with Firefox Developer Edition. I have installed Tab Mix Plus instead. Thanks for your help.

HI Vanitas, The developer's edition is a work in progress, though a very amazing one. I would recommend filing a bug in bugzilla.mozilla.org.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
