On Saturday Thunderbird suddenly stopped receiving mail from Hotmail/Outlook. I have changed no settings: POP3.live.com 995 Normal Password SSL/TSL. Email is getting through to Outlook via Firefox but I prefer having control in Thunderbird. Apparently I can send from T-bird. When I click on 'get messages' in T-bird it says "connected to POP3.live.com but then disappears into oblivion. I have sent 'test' messsage from both Hotmail and other accounts which go through. I've tried everything I can think of but nothing helps.

Also checked with Microsoft but they say it's a Thunderbird problem. Any suggestions appreciated.

Delete the new messages at outlook.com through your browser, one at a time, starting from the time the problem occurred, until the ice jam is broken and downloading through TB resumes.
