Why did you remove the "unlink this device" option?

Whenever I sign into Sync on a public device (like school computers), it syncs in my bookmarks, passwords, and history, which is good. That's what I want. But when I'm done using the device, I have to sign out of that device, and I can't find an option to do that. When I sign out of sync, it doesn't remove my bookmarks, passwords, or anything. I have to go and delete the bookmarks manually and clear search history. Which is VERY inconvenient. I do have a master password, but that only held with passwords, not with history or bookmarks. This is very troubling. I should be able to sign out of that device and have all my information removed. That's what Google Chrome offers and you don't! Where's the unlink device option?

It is possible to disconnect the sync account from the setting:

  • Firefox Menu > Options > Sync > Disconnect

However there is currently not way to unlink a device remotely on the new version of sync but to change the password for all of the devices.

The OP wants to remove synced data that has been downloaded to the computer automatically when disconnecting from Sync. Firefox Sync isn't designed to work like that and you should never use Sync on a public computer to Sync an item like your passwords.

Well, that doesn't' help, does it? Are you going to bring the "unlink device" option back? Chrome seems a lot more useful when it comes to this manner.

Are you going to have this option available anytime soon? Why did you remove it? It doesn't make sense. Changing the password for all the devices is not convenient, is it?

You can try to uninstall and reinstall Flash You can uninstall the current Flash player version and (re)install the latest Flash version. See this about uninstalling Flash players: Note that this will remove all installed Flash players. You can find the latest Flash player versions for Firefox and IE on this page:

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

Yes there are plans to address the remove wipe and unlink of devices, however it is not clear what it will look like. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=823387
