I was on a porn web site then all at once the screen filled up with a FBI telling me I have to pay $400 to unlock my browser. I tryed to exit but I couldn't the page just kept reloading. I had to cut the power to the PC in order to shut down then l deleted fire fox .

This is a scam as it was not really the FBi doing this. There are a rather large number of variations of official looking law enforcement pages around as the same scam that has existed since 2009. Would the <insert law enforcement> truly let you off the hook if you pay <insert amount> of money?.

Linux and Mac users can get this redirect or hijacked page. For Windows users it can potentially be due to infections. https://www.f-secure.com/en/web/labs_global/removing-police-themed-ransomware

I use Linux and have seen the RCMP variation once by chance. I think it was a article that got taken over or redirected.

This add-on can stop such pages; disallow Script Button {web link} The Disallow Script button looks like a letter "M" and the title is the Minus Script, drag and drop the button on a toolbar. If the button is not displayed then nothing operates, except rules for plugins.
