Where did my Yahoo Toolbar disappear to???

more options

My browser auto updated to Fire Fox 36 today. Now the Yahoo Toolbar is blank, except for the Yahoo Mail link. I have tried to update the toolbar, but keep getting a fail message when I try. Is there any way to go back to Fire Fox 35?

Did you try downloading using a different browser? You could save it to your desktop and then drag it from there onto an open Firefox tab.

There's a new version of the toolbar available now at https://us.toolbar.yahoo.com/ (if you can get the site to work): 3.2.11.20150226051211

Also: https://sxp.yimg.com/ei/toolbar/ie/yahootoolbar-3.2.11.20150226051211_intl-_sc-_pc-_dc-.xpi

It is possible to reinstall Firefox 35.0.1, but not recommended. Please see: Install an older version of Firefox.

Could you try manually installing from this site:

https://us.toolbar.yahoo.com/

I suggest after you download it, exit out of Firefox before running the installer to make sure having it "in use" doesn't block the update.

Any luck?

I tried that link. I got the message, "The add-on could not be downloaded because of a connection failure on us.toolbar.yahoo.com." I have received this message eah time I have tried to update the Yahoo toolbar this evening. Do you have any suggestions about how to get around this?

Hmm, I tried it again now and noticed a different URL in the installation dialog:

https://sxp.yimg.com/ei/toolbar/ie/yahootoolbar-3.2.10.20150219020417_intl-_sc-_pc-_dc-.xpi

Yahoo uses the yimg.com domain to host images and various other stuff. Does that link work any better? Or can you think of any reason Firefox might be blocked from visiting that site?

Thank you for your reply, jscher2000. I tried that link, but got the exact same message. Is there ANY way that I can just go back to Firefox 35? It asn't broke, as far as I was concerned, but they tried to fix it anyway. I understand the need to move forward, but not at the expense of your product's reliability...
