Firefox is not opening at all. How many ever times I try it, its not opening..the loading wheel comes and disappears. Its not coming up on the task manager as well. I tried opening it through 'run new task' in task manager, it still didn't open. I have gone the forum where I came across the similar problem and tried the steps mentioned in that but didn't help. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/970099#answer-476212. I'm out of ideas, could really use some.

hello Bong_Babu, as such a problem can sometimes be caused by malware that is active on a system, i'd recommend to run a scan with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes, adwcleaner & kaspersky security scan.

You can check if you can start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the Shift/Options key.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to install for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

See:

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.
