I am moving to a rural community where there are no great internet options, and even by combining services I'm likely to be stuck with data-limits of 60-70GB a month. It's a nightmare, and I'm looking for relatively painless ways to cut back. I understand that Skype video chatting uses huge amounts of data -- 2GB per hour some say. I am hoping that that the new Firefox feature uses much less. Thanks!

By default we will use up to 2Mbits/s, which means maximally about 900Mbyte/hour per direction.

You can control the maximum used *outoing* bandwith via the "media.peerconnection.video.max_bitrate" setting.

hello vandalso, depending on your connection speed the transfer rate is capped at ~2Mbps (the whole traffic for upload and download will be twice that amount) which translates to roughly 2 GB per hour as well in the worst case.
