Greetings, whenever i open a new tab the page always directs to "chrome://quick_start/content/index.html" which would be alright except that page doesn't seem to exist, I believe it may have been hijacked by a "fake add-on update" whilst my mom was using my laptop, anyways I've tried to remove every trace of the update and undo all it's changes, however i can't seem to get this right, even if it is to direct the new tab to a new site..e.g google.com that would be helpful, thanks in advance! Much appreciated.

Chosen solution

Install this extension which will reset the NewTab URL to the default value, among other pref resets it does. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/
