Verizon directed me to change incoming and outgoing server settings, enable SSL, and change port designators. My Thunderbird is now inoperative; no emails come in and no emails can be sent. What do I do to fix this problem? Note: I also went to a Master Password and could not go back to having an individual password. Help!!!

What make and model modem do you have? Some older Westell models (Westell 7500 in particular) have an inbuild block on the ports Verizon now require you to use. You would think the people who gave out these devices would advise their customers than they needed fixing to work, but as far as I am aware Verizon decided to let the customers work it out for themselves.
