I receive e-mails, but when I reply to them I cannot find where Mozilla stores the reply. I've looked under sent e-mails and also within the body of the original e-mail, plus all of the other folders and nothing shows up. I'm pretty sure it is in one of the settings that I have overlooked. Can you please help me.

Sent emails are usually in the Sent folder or if imap, sometimes it is called Sent Items or similar.

check settings: Tools > Account Settings > Copies & Folders or right click on Mail account name and select 'Settings'

  • select 'Copies & Folders' for the mail account

If this is a POP mail account: When sending messages, automatically:

  • Select 'Place a copy in'
  • Select : 'Sent' folder on: pop mail account name

If you want Replies to go to the folder where the original email was stored:

  • Select: 'place replies in the folder of the messsage being replied to.

or leave unchecked to force them to go to the Sent folder.

If you have an IMAP mail account: Have you subscribed to see the server 'Sent' or 'Sent items' folder? check this first - you cannot see any folder that you have not suvscribed to see.

Is it gmail ? If yes:

  • uncheck - do not select 'place copy in'

Link offering advice on gmail settings:

If IMAP, but not gmail:

  • Select: 'place a copy in'
  • Select: 'Other' and select the Sent fodler on imap mail account

click on ok to save settings.

Thank you. It is Imap, and there is nothing in the sent items folder, so I will check on the other settings you recommend. I'll let you know if I get this fixed.
