Hello:

I have 5 webpages pinned on add:newtab. They all behave correctly and stay pinned However, the 6th webpage, does not. This web page is my questions from moz support.

Another of these webpages that behaves correctly, is moz support https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new

As the 6th pinned webpage, I would like to have pinned, the website page that shows "my questions" (I get to this page by navigating from the above URL, under my account, and selecting my questions from dropdown) sounds simple, BUT, each time I drag the URL to newtab, it disappears upon using it. I had it pinned. And it still disappears....

any ideas so it can stay permanently pinned to about:newtab

thankyou for your help

Chosen solution

Changes made manually on the about:newtab page are stored in prefs that you can find on the about:config page.

  • browser.newtabpage.pinned stores websites that you have pinned to a tile.
  • browser.newtabpage.blocked stores websites that you have removed by clicking the X button in a tile.

If you do not keep changes after a restart or otherwise have problems with preferences, see:

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
