Inbox "repair" doesn't fix non existent emails. View ALL folders on.

My Inbox says there are 181 messages. I know there are none. Tried Inbox "repair" with no effect. View is set to "all folders". Count is gradually increasing.

So you are saying that your Inbox is completely empty and you are not downloading any emails.

Have you compacted your folders ? File > Compact Folders

or right click on Inbox and select 'Compact'
