I get "too many connections" all the time when my TB message filters forward incoming email. My ISP only allows for three (3) simultaneous SMTP connections. Isn't there a way to serialize outgoing traffic? (compare it to incoming email messages coming in one by one)

Do you perhaps mean cached imap connections? Afaik, smtp connections are not held open.
