Last week I downloaded Firefox and was able to use it. Apparently Firefox is best for my university work.

After using Firefox, I turned off the computer and when I used the computer in the morning I went to Safari as usual because all my bookmarks, etc are there.

Today I cannot find Firefox, no icon, no file, searching the computer did not show it.

I would like to be able to use Firefox as I used it on my PC a couple of years ago and enjoyed it, but the download was not quick, and I really don't want to have to start over whenever I want to use it.

KLVA, it may be how your university has set up the student accounts if this is on a shared computer. You may have to ask the admin to download Firefox on an administrator account.

The other thing you can do if you do not have your own computer is to try Firefox portable. In the meantime if this is happening on your personal computer, try to download Firefox and set it as your default browser: Make Firefox your default browser

@Fred: the OP in on Mac and the portable version is only for the Windows platform.

Try to reinstall Firefox.

You can find the full version of the current current Firefox release (38.0.5) in all languages and all operating systems here:

Make sure that Firefox gets installed properly.

Open the Firefox disk image file and drag the Firefox program into the Applications folder on your hard drive. You shouldn't double-click the Firefox application to run it from the disk image, but instead drag it out of the DMG folder.
