New Pocket integration does not work.
Hi, I've been using Pocket since Read It Later days on my firefox browser. I've upgraded to the firefox 38.0.5 and after follow the steps of "Transitioning from the old Pocket extension for Firefox" tutorial I've disable the old pocket extension, version 3.0.6.1-signed, and the new one does not work. The new icon does not appear on the toolbar, I've looked for it into the customize options and under “Additional Tools and Features” and the button is missing.
Thanks in advance,
Victor.
Chosen solution
Ok, finally I've found a solution. I activated it via the link provided in the old add-on page in firefox extensions.
https://activations.cdn.mozilla.net/en-US/pocket.html
Now the button appears in my tool-bar, and I have to say that the user experience is very disappointing. It is far less functional that the "old add-on".
Thanks for the support.
Best regards.

Hello chinoka, seek in about:config for the next preference browser.pocket.enabled and if you have it and it is false, double-click on it to make it true(default), now exit firefox from file > exit and restart it. Any luck ?
thank you
Thanks for the response. I've checked it before posting and is enabled already. So, no luck. I've installed the "Classic Theme Restorer" add-on that has a built-in option for this, I've disable it and the issue is still there, no Pocket button.
Regards.
Have you tried the Firefox SafeMode?
Did you check the Customize palette?
Try to click the Restore Defaults button to reset the customization. If that didn't help then you can click the Undo button.
Are you in the USA and using an en-US standard build of Firefox ?
Thanks for the support, but none if the above can solve my issue.

Use develooer edition en-US, or one of the other pocket supporting versions. For reliability stick with the default setup of using separate profiles. Use the additional browser either as yours mainstream one or only whenever needing Pocket. Use Firefox. Sync. if you need to Sync bookmarks, but strong personal recommendation you also then routinely backup bookmarks manuall y
Will post links shortly. usi.g a mobile long replies with links not too easy
- Save web pages for later with Pocket for Firefox article lists versions supporting Pocket
- Recover lost bookmarks on Firefox Developer Edition I recommend for reliability use separate profiles
- How do I set up Sync on my computer?
- Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer

All rather complicated. Not sure why the Pocket integration was rushed out mid Release. That decision seems to have resulted in less testing than usual with initially wrong and still incomplete and untranslated documentation

Curiosity really as I do not use Pocket, but I understood the Pocket integrated in Firefox was to be much the same as the addon.
As you say it is less functional than the old add-on, can you explain what problems or lack of function you see.
In fact I may see what you mean by reading the info from
Pocket 3.0.6.1-signed
When you find something on the web that you want to view later, put it in Pocket. It automatically syncs to your phone, tablet or computer so you can view it at any time, even without an internet connection.Note: This extension will no longer be supported. Please download the all-new Pocket Add-on for Firefox. Features:Looks rather as if it would save pages locally and the price paid for integrating with Firefox and promoting sync was loss of saving locally ! I will try ask and see if that suspicion is correct.Accolades:
