I want some of my recent bookmark catagories to be nearer the top of the list and they are nearer the bottom. Alphabetizing them will make it easier to find them.

Hi

This add-on MIGHT be what you are looking for https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/auto-sort-bookmarks/.

If not, there are several others at Add-ons for Firefox https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/

Note that you can drag and drop bookmarks and folders in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) to a different position.

In Firefox the option to sort bookmarks is only available for folders and not for individual bookmarks. Easiest to sort by name is to do that in the left pane of the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) and right-click the folder that you want to sort. The bookmarks are sorted between separators and if you have folders and normal bookmarks then drag the folders to the top in the right pane and (temporarily) put a separator between the folders and the bookmarks.
