My Tab toolbar is a sidebar on the left side of the screen. I just downloaded v. 38.05 after doing a clean install of Mavericks on my MacBook Pro. Something didn't look right, but I couldn't figure it out at fisrt. It was only after I had opened more than 1 tab that I discovered the Tab Toolbar was "hidden" and not in its usual spot? I want it to run along the top of the window parallel to my other toolbars. How do I move it?

Thanks!

Chosen solution

You only have the tabs in a sidebar if you have installed an extension that provides this feature.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
