Browser window is totally blank. cannot get anything to appear in browser from mac drop down menus except when I click on history (to try an clear cache), when I get the second window - as image with black block.

i am running Yosemite 10:10. I have deleted Firefox and installed latest version 39.0.dmg to no avail.

Are you running Firefox in a VM (virtual machine) environment?

You could be seeing this bug:

  • bug 1180688 - On OSX 10.10 yosemite VM everything renders as black or white except popups/panels
