Copy Paste doesn't work, gets reset, works, doesn't work again, repeat
Firefox 39.0, Windows 7, Office 2007
I need to copy a chart from a web page, put it in Microsoft Word. I used to do this, but no longer able to do it.
If I copy a newspaper article, it will not paste correctly, stopping at the end of the MS Word page, mid article, and no matter what I do it will not continue down to the next page, will not let me format, nothing.
I reset Firefox, and it works again, or parts of it will work again, then it stops working.
If I can't make a copy to directly quote an article, I can't use this browser.

It's odd that after you Refresh Firefox, it is only cured for a while and eventually develops the same problem again.
Can you give examples of some articles that presents these problems?
I will post, when it happens again.
Right now, it seems to be working. My computer got auto updates last night, probably from Microsoft, Adobe, and possibly Firefox.
I wondered if it was dependent on the web page I was copying from, because the paste feature was acting like it was pasting an image too big for the page. Sometimes I could get around it by using "paste special" with no formatting. Other times it was charts and graphs that seemed to copy, but would paste blank.
I won't have any examples until it begins to malfunction again.
It seems many, many people are having all kinds of copy/paste problems with Firefox.
The replies always start with "use safe mode" or "clean install" or "page specific".
No. Copy and Paste no longer function properly for anyone for long.
I suppose this will soon be a paid-only feature, further limiting the internet to those who can afford to pay for knowledge.
Predatory capitalism is the new slavery.

Mozilla will never charge for software. Although some add-on developers do ask for a contribution and some do offer slimmed down extensions for no charge, and want payment for the fully featured version. But those are in the super minority - like a handful out of the tens of thousands available from AMO.
