I couldn't configure thunderbird to sync with my gmail and outlook accounts. It always gives me username or password invalid error. I am 100% sure that both my details are perfectly correct. Why am I getting this error ?

I don't have 2step verification enabled. IMAP settings are good to go in both gmail and outlook accounts. Still What is the problem and why couldn't I configure Thunderbird ?

Have you disabled any anti virus email scanning? If not, do so.

Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, OSX
