How do I set default to open in new tab?

more options

It used to be when I clicked on a bookmark, a new tab was opened. I did something, but don't know what, so now it opens in a side bar sort of thing (a smaller portion of the tab I was on). How do I reset the bookmark to always open in a new tab without having to do so manually with a right click/select?

"... now it opens in a side bar ..."

Open Properties for that bookmark and un-check Load this bookmark in the sidebar.

As far as having bookmarks always open in a new tab - see the extension mentioned in the first response.

You will have to middle-click a bookmark to open the bookmark in a new tab. Or it will just open in the current tab you are in.

There are a lot of extensions that allow to open a link or bookmark by default in a new tab, so you can do a search on the Add-ons page (Tools > Add-ons > Get Add-ons) if you prefer a simple left-click.

If you can't find and Add-ons, I use Open Bookmarks which can be found here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/open-bookmarks-in-new-tab/
