There was an error saving the message to Sent. Retry?
Problem started occurring after Windows and Thunderbird updates (???) When Thunderbird has been open for a while >10 minutes, and I am composing a new message, longer than a few minutes I get a message that the message: There was an error saving the message to Drafts. Retry? and if I try to send I get message : There was an error saving the message to Sent. Retry? If I hit Retry 4 to 6 times the message is sent put does not show up in Sent Folder. If I close TB and rapidly send a new message it goes trough. Sometimes, when copy to Drafts fails, Send succeeds! Also, (new) mail reception seems to stop after a while. Restart fixes issue. Help appreciated.

Anybody? Is this the right place to get support?
Wrt saving drafts, don't store them on the server, use the Drafts folder of your 'Local Folders' account instead. What causes the failure to copy sent messages to the Sent folder, I don't know, and I don't have a fix for it. To me it's unlikely the problem is caused by Thunderbird. I'd rather suspect a problem with an unreliable server and/or a slow Internet connection, but I'm just guessing.
1-I use the correct outgoing server port 2-I have the correct authentication settings 3-Thunderbird says "There was an error saving message to Sent folder" 4-I use correct server names, password settings, and have tried both Place a copy in Sent folder on <<my e-mail address>> and also in Other ("Sent on <<my e-mail address>>) Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. 5-I just previously updated from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.
I use Thunderbird v. 38.5.1
Unchecking "Place a copy" option results in no error message.
