"Ask.com" keeps replacing my new tab choice, and "ask.com" (and "ask") does not show up under extensions, add-ons, plugins, or even on my computer. I have tried every fix offered by Mozilla and Microsoft to no avail. Today I found and installed the New Tab Tools add-on, and it is not showing up, even after restarting Firefox.

Please help remove ask.com as my new tab page!

Hi, 'Ask' must be in there somewhere, so please try working through Remove Ask Toolbar and Ask.com Search (Uninstall Guide) by Malware Tips.

Note that not all removal programs will detect all malware, so you may need to run several or all of them.

After removal you may need to reset your New Tab, search etc., which you can do by running the add-on SearchReset.

I can see you have the New Tab Tools extension, which should be in your Add-ons Manager Ctrl + Shift + A > Extensions, but 'Ask' may be interfering with it.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.
