Is there a way of blocking ads from appearing when I go into any browser's home page. No matter if I use Firefox, Google, or Internet Explorer, the ad always pops up, and sometimes, when I try to close ad, it will ask me what about this ad that I did not like. I don't answer any of their questions and go back to the web page, and it pops up again. I wish to totally stop these ads but am at a loss as to how to proceed. Help, anyone, I really, really do hate ads, whether TV, radio, or internet. at least with TV, you can mute and with radio, turn down sound or flip off until ads are finished.

What website are you using as your homepage?

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one. Windows 8 has antivirus built-in already.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.
