When sending out emails with attachments the emails show up in sent folder twice, some times four times and attachments are duplicated and even occasionally contains an attachment I did not add. Also getting message saying copy to sent folder failed, then copies show up in sent folder. Also getting frequently message stating saving to draft folder failed. How do I fix these errors? Running Thunderbird 38.20.0 Thank you to all for the time and consideration show in responding to my questions. Midnightsunman

Chosen solution

1. If you are using Outlook.com or Gmail disable saving of sent mail in your account settings. Both add it when the mail goes through their SMTP servers.

2. Compact your drafts and Sent folders. The setting is on the right click context menu.

3. Create and exemption from any real time scanning of your Thunderbird profile folder by your anti virus.
