I added Firefox 41 and now am getting advertisement emails from Verizon and insurance companies which I can't get off. I can't find my yahoo mail nor facebook.

I would rather have the old Firefox with all my old info than this 41 which has messed up everything. I was sent an email saying I was running an old version of Firefox and downloaded 41. Somehow, along the way I lost my old settings for my email and facebook and I don't know how to undo this. Also I am getting advertisements which I can't delete and they are blocking my emails. Obviously this old woman is having a hard time. Can you please help?

Hi Pabbie , Not a problem, I am sorry to hear that some of your options were removed when you updated. It might be because some of them were outdated. However let's try to get to you back to where you were.

If there is a folder on the desktop that says "Old Firefox Data" do not delete it, this where all your all profile settings are.

Second, if its not there let's take care of those advertisements and find your websites. The advertisement emails should have an option to opt out of them at the bottom of the email. If not, talk to your email provider about email filters.

For the two sites yahoo mail and facebook, try this.

  1. Visit the site (facebook.com or yahoo mail)
  2. Login to the site then click on the star in the top right of the Firefox window. This will bookmark the two sites for you for easy access.
  3. In order to see them in your toolbar, you can turn on the bookmarks toolbar for easy access. Go to the Customize menu in the Firefox menu then make sure that the bookmarks toolbar is turned on. How to Customize Toolbars

I hope this helps get back to where you are.
