Are there reasons why T/B can't support wild card (*xyzpqr*) or Regular Expressions in searching mail content?
When a character string I'm interested in, is buried within an e-mail, I would like to find such emails. It would seem that since the code necessary to search an email is already in place, would it take very little additional code/effort/support to expand the capabilities for searching in a more effective way, such as is available in spreadsheets.
This particular forum has such capabilities, suggesting that users find the facility useful.
Are there reasons preventing such facilities being added to T/B? I would find the capability would frequently help me in searching my email.

Both FiltaQuilla and Expression Search/GmailUI provide such features, specifically regular expressions.
FiltaQuilla is aimed at improving the message filters and has a useful side effect in improving the ctrl+shift+f search. Expression Search enhances the QuickFilter bar. Neither helps with the rather quirky Global Search, but I work around that by using a Saved Search folder, where you use a dialogue similar to message filters and can make use of the enhancements offered by either of these add-ons.
