How do I get rid of the ad/banner for GCLI developers tools that constantly pops up every time I reopen my Google/Firefox browser ?

This keeps telling me about something I don't want, will never want, as I'm not a web developer or whatever, and it just is so annoying that this pop-up keeps on appearing - something to do with "HACKS" for Firefox, whatever that may be - I 've presumed it isn't an actual hack, but I try to avoid the thing anyway - please help me banish it ....

Do you mean that this toolbar open each time you start Firefox even when you use its close X to close the toolbar?

This pref set whether the toolbar shows or is hidden:

  • devtools.toolbar.visible

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Otherwise please attach a screenshot of what you see.

  • Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB
