Any way to bring the old options menu back?
It seems "browser.preferences.inContent" setting under about:config doesn't change how options page opens anymore. I really dislike the new flat "design". Isn't there any way left to get rid of this **** or am I missing something?

The browser.preferences.inContent is no longer supported in Firefox 42 and later, so it is not possible to open a standalone window.

You can possibly create a button on the Bookmarks Toolbar to the about:preferences page and hold the Shift key and left-click to open the page in a new window.
The code for the old dialog was removed, so there's no way to show that "page" any more. But maybe someone will create an extension revive it.
Well, that's a shame then.
You can look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension.

That doesn't work.
If it doesn't work then you may be using a theme that isn't supported.
Does it work if you switch to the default theme?

I'm not using a theme.

It does work, gives me a popup, but still the same design...
I assume that only a new window is opened with the about:preferences page and that a different style sheet is applied to change the appearance.
