emails not staying in the in box or any other folder in thunderbird

My emails come into my in box stay for from 10 seconds to 5 minutes and then delete themselves, therefore they are deleted off my Webmail server. Can some one please help me with this problem. Have been onto my server, who thinks it is a Thunderbird problem. All this only started when I downloaded the latest program for Thunderbird 2 weeks or so ago. Sandyjaffles
