Thunderbird does not recognice Adresse group name and treats it as single email Addresse.

when insert a group name in the address list, it tells me its not a proper formatet "user@host" address and i have to fix it. but its only the group name i inserted. It treats group name as it would be a single email addresse. there were people with same problem in forum, but their answers do not solve my problem. i was told to get rid of commas in name, but i do not have any to start with thanks

Open a new Write message and select the mailing list name from the Contacts Sidebar.

This issue could be due to how the name is spelt etc. To save guessing, it makes it easier if we can see exactly what you see.

Please post an image of the Write window. Hold down 'Alt' key and press 'Prt scr' key to capture image of that window. Open 'Paint' and use 'ctrl'+'V' to paste into 'Paint'. Save as jpg. then post the image into this forum.

thats what I did, select the mailing list name from the Contacts Sidebar. Ok I made a picture but I am afraid its German, so I do not know if its of use.

Thanks for posting image. RE: Mailing List name I notice you have a Capital letter at the start - this should be ok. You have other capital letters D F N - could you try them as lower case d f n. I recall someone also having an issue with capital letters with exception of the first one. Please test this by altering the Mailing List name and report back on results to see if the same problem is affecting you.

Thank you, I did what you suggested and changed my whole name to lower case letter. It did not help. I also tried to not use the "-". The interesting thing is that i have 4 group names with the same kind of Name. Because its a huge receiver group I divided it into 4. Two of them I was able to send, and two did and do not go.
