I used to be able to block or allow sites but now all I can do apparently is ALLOW sites.

If I attempt to go to this site it says its not secure which is just one more reason I want to block it

I want to block http://mybrandrewardsurveys.com because they are interfering with my online activity and because of them I lost something I had been searching for a long time. I hope it is not against forum rules to post the site I'm trying to block - I don't want to forget exactly what it is.

Why is it that now all I can do is ALLOW sites? How do I get it to BLOCK sites.

Chosen solution

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Adblock Plus {web link} Blocks annoying video ads on YouTube, Facebook ads, banners and much more. Adblock Plus blocks all annoying ads, and supports websites by not blocking unobtrusive ads by default (configurable).

Adblock Plus Pop-up Addon {web link} Adblock Plus Pop-up Addon extends the blocking functionality of Adblock Plus to those annoying pop-up windows that open on mouse clicks and other user actions.

Sounds like you picked up some Malware. See this: https://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-2015-rewards-survey/

I'll follow-up on your suggestion. The subject matter of the pop-up is always the same its allegedly regarding TIME-WARNER which I do have a my net provider. Don't know if that means anything or not but I will definitely follow-up this evening with your suggestions. Thanks. I'll also post later as to whether it was a fix or not but I guess I can't tell for sure until something DOESN'T HAPPEN.

anyway thanks for the info.

I ran all the programs and there were a very few things that I find - so now I have them erased and stuff so hopefully that will solve the problem thanks for the tips. I am usually very careful about downloading stuff I've even picked up "extras" on CNET so I don't use them anymore but I honestly can't remember downloading anything lately. If I did I guess I forgot - Hopefully they are gone for good thanks again.
