Editing email lists -- how to modify an existing email list

more options

I have an email list that I created in Thunderbird that I would like to modify.

When I double click on the list, it opens window where I can see the emails of the members of the list, but if I delete or modify any and then close it by clicking on OK, when I re-open list, none of my changes have been registered.

Any ideas of how to fix?

(I have searched for "Editing email lists" in various combinations and could not find any discussion for what would seem to me a fairly obvious topic of interest.")

A search for "Mailing List" might be more productive.

Could you try editing an entry in the address book itself, rather than in a Mailing List? I suspect this will fail too, pointing to a corrupted address book data file. The usual repair is to export the broken address book to an LDIF file, delete and re-create the broken address book, then re-import from the LDIF file.

Problem is NOT with the mailing list being corrupted. It works fine as long as I use it as is. I am interested in how to modify the list. None of the posts I have found address the following problem:

(1) Original list has ten names: A1,A2,....A10.

(2) I want to modify list so it has 9 names: A1,A2,A4,....A10 -- where A3 is no longer one of the names; and possible another name has been changed.

Address book edits not saving are a symptom of corruption. I suggest to try the advise given above.
