I have downloaded Thunderbird and it appears in my downloads but only the option to save pops up? It doesn't give me the option to run and install it? The download saves as a file? Is my computer blocking it from running or am I doing something wrong>?? Please help!!

Ah! Linux?

If you have downloaded a compressed archive file (*.bz2?) then copy that to where you want to install it, right-click it and select "extract here". The default location in my favourite distro is /opt. You'll need to be root (or use sudo) to work in the /opt folder. You could also place it in your home folder, aka ~.
