It sounds like you are seeing all the email headers. Go to the View menu at the top of your Thunderbird window, select 'Headers', and then choose 'Normal' rather than 'All'.

Thank you amanchesterman; solved immediately. My internet server had direct access to my laptop yesterday re a problem with my Wi Fi connection to a new TV which maybe caused the change. Regards, terjesen
