Using Firefox 44.0.2 on a Windows 7 64 bit system.

Website that is either slow to open/run or will not open or run is:

http://freewritersandreaders.ning.com/

This is a recent problem with this particular website. All other websites operate quickly and efficiently.

Firewall is not blocking this site.

Please advise.

The site is working perfectly for me(W10;Fx44.0.2). Have another try - the site may have had an earlier problem. Standard troubleshooting now is to delete your cache and any relevant cookies. After that as a diagnostic, not a solution, try Safe Mode by holding down the Shift Key as you open Firefox. Does that help?

Clear the cache and cookies.

Feedback? Any progress? Do you need more help?

I have deleted my cache and dumped cookies repeatedly. I have rebooting my modem repeatedly.

Let me try opening Firefox in Safe Mode and see what happens.

Opened Firefox in Safe Mode. Site came up though slowly. In attempting to logon to the site, it shows I am logged on but the site's info is mostly blank. Any other site I open does so quickly and efficiently.

FYI: I have opened up a help ticket with Ning. They are, however, endlessly slow in providing answers/fixes.

Any other things I can try?

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?

Let me try that now and report back here in a few moments.

Had something unusual happen when I tried to start my computer in Safe Mode. Instead of showing what I normally see, I get a screen that said:

Please select boot device:

P2: TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-222BB P3: ATAPI iHas224 B P1: WDC WD2002FAex-007BA0 (19007729MB)

Arrow up and arrow down to move selection ENTER to select boot device ESC to boot using defaults

I selected all three at different times and never received the normal Safe Mode screen option.

Did as I normally do to get to Safe Mode:

To boot into safe mode, press and hold the F8 key right after the computer is turned on and before the Windows logo appears.

  • sigh* I am at a loss here.

Figured out you can access Safe Mode from msconfig. SO much easier than messing with the silly F8 button. Wish I knew this years ago.  :-)

I am getting the same results with the site in question while I am in Safe Mode. No quicker response time. Another thing that is odd, when I select the area I want to go within the site, clicking that option leads me to an entirely different area. Very strange.

Is there something else I can try?

I'm running out of ideas. I've called the big guys to help you. Good luck.

Remove History For One Site Open the History Manager <Control><Shift> H. In the search bar, enter the name of the site. Right click on one of the listings and select Forget About This Site. This should remove all information, including any passwords / settings.

I don't allow Firefox to remember history or passwords. History is deleted when I close my browser so when I go to History Manager, there is nothing there.

Even went to Options to the Advanced tab then to the Network tab and cleared out the Cached Web Content to zero. That did not help.

Contacted my internet provider. They see no issue on their end as I am able to surf the 'Net to my hearts content...everywhere but that one site.

Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to seeing if the big guys can help.
