Old Firefox Data - any useful stuff in there other than Firefox settings?

A while back I was told that FF had crashed and asked whether to refresh or quit. Foolishly because I knew no better I chose refresh and lost a lot of Firefox settings .

I have since sorted out my old bookmarks and things like that but I had a lot of .gifs stored in KOLOBOK Smiles add-on.

I have an Old Firefox Data folder. Would that hold any information/copies of that KOLOBOK stuff or should I just start again?

That is all I am interested in, not bothered why FF crashed or how to get back FF settings.

PS When FF crashes these days (not often) I always choose quit and lose nothing.

The data for the add-on may be in that folder, but keep in mind that may be why Firefox was crashing in the first place (Most emoticon add-ons are borderline malware, and always poorly designed)

I suggest trying the support link or email address for the extension for detailed instructions.

Also, your Firefox identified itself to the forum as version 40. Is that correct?

Version 40 is not secure; Mozilla discloses security flaws after each new release. Is something holding you back from upgrading to Firefox 45? Please let us know so we can suggest solutions or workarounds.

If Help > About Firefox shows Firefox 45.0, you may need to clear the preference that is misreporting your version number. See: How to reset the default user agent on Firefox.

Perhaps this is the extension you were using - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/kolobok-smiles-for-firefox/

If so, there ia a support forum over here: http://www.forums.kolobok.us/index.php?showtopic=595

And the homepage is here: http://www.kolobok.us/

Thanks for the replies but I am positive that the crash problem was not with Kolobok. That works/worked fine. Never had any bother with that.

The crash was the fault of Firefox. My problem was after the crash all my old data had disappeared.

I was just wondering if Old Firebox Data might contain some useful remains. But it seems no-one knows.

"Firefox identified itself to the forum as version 40. Is that correct? "

Yes

"Is something holding you back from upgrading to Firefox 45?"

Yes. Any upgrade to Firefox. Everytime I upgrade, usually involuntarily, some thing goes wrong.

Three upgrades ago I lost the use of my standard F keys (I can no longer refresh using F5 for example) when the focus was on a Firefox window. No-one could offer a solution to that - they still don't work in the standard way as they do in every other program, including two other different browsers

Two upgrades ago the "When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately" stopped working (yes, I have that box checked). It no longer works when I do a search in, say, Wikipedia if I already have another tab open.

Last upgrade, which sneaked through despite my not wanting it, changed something, can't remember what.

So now I don't upgrade because I have other things to do besides tweaking FF.

Can't remember when It was decided I could only clear download AND browsing history automatically. I want to clear download, not browsing so I have to do it manually.

If I could I would go back to FF9.x, the last time the thing did what I wanted, rather than what people thought I should have. Sadly that is not possible, I've tried.
