I am getting an endless twirlie when I attempt to login into gmail

I have had Thunderbird for several years and have had this gmail account set up for most of that time with no problems. In the last day it started asking repeatedly for my gmail password and even when I provide it, it is not being accepted, there is a constant twirlie in the tab regardless of which email account I am in. I no longer seem to be getting my gmail, aim and aol accounts seem to be working I am seeing these errors in the Error console: Timestamp: 3/17/2016 9:01:06 PM Warning: Error in parsing value for 'word-break'. Declaration dropped. In Thunderbird Help > Troubleshooting Information click on 'copy text to clipboard' in this forum question, right click in a 'Post a Reply' text box and select: Paste. You can edit/remove all info on fonts and printers , but nothing else.
